Yes, it’s summer (for real, be careful touching a dark car parked in the sun!), and the next big holiday for us is going to be Independence Day. Since it falls on a Tuesday this year, there’s not going to be a “Fourth of July weekend” as such, but it’s still going to be one of the busiest days until Labor Day weekend closes out the summer season.
So, the question that people are going to ask themselves is, “What are my plans for the Fourth of July?” At Sardella’s, we have a few thoughts to share on that.
Fireworks Shows
This really should go without saying, but we’ll mention it anyway. There are going to be lots of fireworks shows going on around the Valley, both in the days right before and on July 4. Most are going to be put on by city governments, and there’s going to be plenty of activities going on before the sun sets and the fireworks shows actually start up.
The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is going to be putting on its Fabulous Phoenix 4th event with live music and a classic car show during the day. Other cities will have their own events, of course, so check your city’s web site and see what’s planned.
Going to the Movies
Just because the holiday weekend isn’t quite happening doesn’t mean that big movies aren’t going to be coming out. Flicks like ‘‘The House,’’ starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler, and ‘‘Despicable Me 3’’ are among the new releases in the days leading up to the holiday.
They might not all be blockbusters, but there’s sure to be something that catches your fancy.
Camping & Fishing
More than a few folks might be taking an extra long weekend (say about five days or so) to get out of town and head into the mountains for cooler temperatures and enjoying some outdoors fun. Or they might stay a bit closer to home and hit up places like Lake Pleasant to go boating. The only thing we’d like to say: Please don’t set off any fireworks in the high country. Leave it to the pros.
Staying at Home
With the temperatures being what they’ve been lately, it’s not unreasonable to think some folks will just stay home, maybe with family, maybe throwing a pool party with friends. We’re certainly OK with that. We’ll even help make the time more enjoyable with some holiday specials.
Sardella’s Pizza
Whether you’re going out or staying in, Sardella’s Pizza is happy to celebrate our country’s 241st birthday, and we want to wish all our customers a Happy Fourth of July!
